I was kind of worn out as we pulled in front of the four-story building of La Bellasera Hotel that afternoon. Traffic had been a nightmare on Highway 101, coming from Los Angeles. I could hardly wait to kick off my shoes and hop on a clean bed. The lustrous marble floors of the lobby gleamed like polished bronze in the late afternoon sun. After checking in, we followed the bellman towards the elevator through an inviting sitting area with wrought-iron chandeliers and plush couches.

‘You’re on the 4th floor,’ he said as he invited us into the elevator. After a few short minutes we stepped into the long hallway lined up with a accent mirrors, paintings and a vividly colored plush carpet. The bellman stopped in front of a door, sliding a card into the magnetic key slot and, viola! The door swung open to reveal our suite. Ah, it was beautiful! I couldn’t have hoped for more.

The bellman rolled our suitcase through the sitting room and set it up on a bench. He pointed out the two TV sets (one in the bedroom and one living room), the closet, the minibar, an extra small refrigerator, then explained how to operate the whirlpool soaking tub in the living room. Stepping into the bedroom he pulled the cords that drew back the heavy drapery, revealing a beautiful view and the light of the last rays of the glittering sun. Or would I prefer it closed? No, open. Closed. Oh, it doesn’t matter.

As the door closed behind him, I stepped into the bathroom: travertine tile shower, spacious counter with sink, plenty of towels and toiletries and two plush robes. Everything was sparkling clean and generously spacious. Oh, I could live like this for more than just two days!

I sat on the edge of the bed and fell back against the soft, fluffy pillows. No bed had ever felt this good! Then I began reading a little about the hotel. “Built in 2008, the luxurious four-story Italian/Mediterranean boutique hotel, La Bellasera, won an award in its first year for “Best Wine Country Hotel.”
There are 35 rooms and 25 suites in nine different room categories from deluxe king accommodations to three room suites complete with kitchens. Everything is deluxe in the richly decorated guestrooms, from the door bell at the entrance to each room, pillow top mattresses, high thread count linens, hypoallergenic goose down pillows, plasma tvs, and even in-room client computers. No wonder the bed felt so good!
The hotel also features one of the best restaurants in Paso Robles – Enoteca Restaurant & Bar, a Wine Cellar with an extensive list of local wines, a fireside conversation area, a spa, a swimming pool, and a fully equipped fitness center.
Located just a mile away from the beautiful Pacific Coast, this boutique-style hotel in Paso Robles is close to almost everything: vineyards, mountains and beaches, with easy access to freeway and the road to Cambria Pines. Also, like its fancy and more expensive relative, the Bacara Resort, it’s close to many wineries and breweries.
For two days I lounged by the resort’s pool and hot tub, read, checked out the wine cellar, dined at the Enoteca Restaurant, enjoyed an amazing massage at the on-site spa and beauty center and relaxed. I so needed that! La Bellasera Hotel in Paso Robles is hard to beat.

Looks like a nice place to rest after a long drive on the 101. That is something I don’t miss about California:)
I love the bright yellow colour of this hotel, and first time I have heard of an in-room client computer!
It looks fantastic! I just love that moment when you open the hotel bedroom for the first time and find that it’s everything you were hoping for – and more. Sounds like you really had that feeling here.
The suite sounds great for a weekend of pampering. Glad to hear you had a relaxing weekend at La Bellasera, Anda. #TheWeeklyPostcard
Looks like my kind of place! I am grateful when there are two TV sets in the room. One person can watch it in the living /sitting area while the others sleeps. I haven’t been to the Paso area in some time. Lets see if I can visit soon.
If you haven’t been in Paso for a while you’ll be surprised how much it has developed, Ruth.
Oooh…pretty hotel! I love the Paso Robles area, but haven’t been there in forever. This has me thinking it may be time to plot our return. 😉
Looks extremely relaxing and cozy…just the kind of place I could use right now!
What an absolute gem! Love how close it is to everything. Looks like I have a new place to check out the next time we go to Central California. Even the name sounds so European and luxurious.
What a lovely hotel, Anda! It looks super posh and yet not overly commercialised and impersonal like the big-name chain hotels. It’s probably out of my budget but looks like an amazing place to stay in 🙂
I don’t know what your budget is, Michelle, but La Bellasera is not expensive. The rooms start at $179/night.
Thanks for the info, Anda! That’s in my “I need to pamper myself” range 😉 For me the problem with hotels that are too nice is that I’ll be extremely reluctant to leave my room to go explore!
There’s an on-site spa? Deal! Thanks for sharing, Anda
That room looks very big! Nice.
Fabulous hotel, and what a suite. I had to giggle, when you said, “what ever would make him leave faster.” Sounds you enjoyed some well earned relaxation. Beautiful photos.
